Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Math Tutor to inspire and support students in mastering mathematical concepts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on learners’ academic journeys by providing personalized instruction tailored to each student’s needs. As a Math Tutor, you will foster a positive learning environment, build confidence, and help students achieve their full potential in math and related subjects.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on math concepts, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Assess students’ current understanding and tailor lesson plans to address individual learning goals
- Utilize effective teaching techniques to clarify complex topics
- Track student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support students with classroom skills, homework assistance, and preparation for exams or standardized tests
- Must be able to work any 3 days during the week (Monday-Friday between 3.30-8.30 pm and on Saturday from 9 am - 2pm)
Requirements
- Experience working with children or in educational settings, preferably with classroom experience or tutoring roles
- Strong knowledge of math concepts across various levels, including elementary through high school
- Background in teaching or special education is an asset
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of different ages and skill levels
- Passion for education and helping students succeed academically and personally
- Ability to create a positive, encouraging environment that fosters confidence and curiosity in math
