Position Summary
The In-House Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing practical and strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including contracts, corporate governance, employment matters, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to management on business operations, contracts, risk management, and corporate matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Support real estate transactions, and financing arrangements.
- Advise on employment, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
- Advise on legal disputes, claims, and litigation.
- Develop and maintain company policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise leadership on potential business impacts.
- Assist with corporate structuring, strategic initiatives, and business growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- 3+ years of legal experience, either in private practice or an in-house environment.
