The Opportunity
The Project Manager will be accountable for safety, regulatory compliance, quality, cost, and schedule for all aspects of project execution after project is assigned. This includes:
Engineering, Materials Procurement, Regulatory, Environmental, and Land approvals, Construction, Commissioning, Asset Integration, Closeout.
The Project Manager also leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management, and troubleshooting for projects. Defines and develops project scope and objectives, including project execution plan, schedule, functionality, quality and cost to achieve project milestones and minimize costs. Oversees all aspects of project execution (including engineering, procurement, and construction activities) and monitors critical path schedules and deliverables. Ensures adherence to quality and control standards and manages integration of vendor or cross-functional tasks.
What you'll do
Interface with system design and estimating to support rough order of magnitude estimates for Projects in Discovery and Prospecting phase
Coordinate with ELIR to validate preliminary feasibility of project options and site alternatives
Manages scope for field work and reviews RFPs for consultants: Env, Land, Survey, and Geotech
Support engagement of ELIR through information requests and data gathering
Works with Risk team to identify risks and mitigations through risk assessments
Works with support teams and Project Controls to establish baseline execution schedule and spend forecast early in the project lifecycle
Works with Project Controls to complete monthly cost and schedule forecasting, manage the trend log and watchlist, etc.
Review third party engineering RFPs prior to submission
Reviews third party engineering proposals to ensure they align with project needs (scope, cost and schedule)
Attends all design review meetings and review RFI responses to ensure decisions align with project objectives
Reviews and approves POs for material and equipment purchase
Works with PE and SCM to evaluate long lead equipment bids to ensure cost and lead time align with project requirements
Stays informed on material/equipment delivery dates and works with SCM to expedite, where needed
For growth projects: accountable for timely preparation and submittal of regulatory filing application and responses to data/information requests
For GPMC projects: submits PDIF request and monitor progress to ensure PDIF is executed within required timeframe
Works with SCM, Project Engineering, Construction Management, and other support teams to prepare construction bid package
Works with SCM to manage the construction bid process, bid evaluation, and contract award
Works with CM team to identify third party inspection resources
Manages constructability reviews and gate readiness reviews
Manages Prime construction contractor from a scope delivery/commercial standpoint
Work with all project stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of RFIs
Work with SCM to disposition all CORNs and project engineering for classification of CORNs and if they are valid
Ensure safety incident investigations are completed in a timely manner
Actively maintain construction punchlist
Coordinate commissioning activities with appropriate teams to ensure new facilities are ready for service by required date
Coordinate asset integration and project closeout activities.
Minimum Qualifications
University Degree, technical diploma or equivalent formal project manager training
Minimum 5+ years on projects
5+ years as project or program manager.
