Edison Lighting Group Ltd. is a Canadian lighting manufacturer located in Newmarket, Ontario. We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a hands-on accounting role responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliations, government reporting, inventory-related accounting, and month-, quarter-, and year-end support.
The successful candidate will work within our Genius ERP system and collaborate with our internal team and external accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities within the ERP system
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices and purchase order matching
- Maintain vendor accounts and investigate invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
- Maintain and review general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and reconcile GST/HST reporting and supporting schedules
- Assist with inventory and Inventory in Transit reconciliations
- Review inventory-related accounting transactions and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with foreign currency and multi-currency transactions and reconciliations
- Review accounting entries for accuracy and appropriate general ledger coding
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end reconciliations and adjusting entries
- Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for management
- Prepare year-end schedules and supporting documentation for the Company’s external accountant
- Assist with year-end accounting requirements and audit-related requests
- Work with purchasing, operations, and other departments to resolve accounting and inventory discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation
- Assist with improving accounting procedures and ERP processes as the Company continues to expand its use of Genius ERP
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
- Experience preparing or supporting GST/HST returns
- Experience with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with an ERP or integrated accounting system
- Experience with inventory accounting or inventory reconciliations is an asset
- Manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with foreign currency or multi-currency transactions is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments and external accounting professionals

The ideal candidate is a dependable and hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable working across multiple areas of the accounting function. You should be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in an ERP environment, and able to manage routine accounting responsibilities while investigating and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly involving inventory-related accounting, would be a strong advantage.
