We are currently looking to hire Dock Supervisor Reporting to Terminal Manager, this position is responsible for the efficient operation of a high-volume dock within the Cambridge terminal.
Basic Duties:
- Planning loads to deliver within the Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph city
- Ensures all dock employees are operating in a safe and efficient manner
- Processes all inbound loads from various origins and P&D terminals in a timely basis
- Ensures all outbound loads depart on time and full as per network schedule
- Drives revenue growth through accessorial/cubing/reweigh activities
- Utilizes the staffing/equipment levels that are aligned with volumes and budget
- Provides daily accurate reporting of KPIs and activities
- Monitors and checks dock processes frequently to ensure quality and compliance
- Directs the dock team effectively with clear communication
- Ensures all resources the dock team requires are available and in working order
- Collaborates with other supervisors and managers in the pursuit of continuous improvement
- Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Possesses a high level of energy and willingness to learn ·
- Experience routing LTL freight in Cambridge surroundings
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of transportation and supervisory experience; College or University Degree preferred ·
- LTL experience an asset
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt well to change
- Excellent practical approach to problem solving
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Possesses exceptional personal integrity and strong values
- Has the courage and conviction to do “the right thing”
- Leads by example, results driven
Education:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent preferred
