The Freebird Market is seeking experienced, dependable, and hardworking Production Cooks to join our growing kitchen team.
We are currently hiring for multiple full-time Production Cook positions within our Sandwich Production and Hot Production departments. These roles are based entirely out of our high-volume production kitchen in Etobicoke and are ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in producing consistently high-quality food.
Successful candidates may be placed in either the Sandwich or Hot Production team based on their experience, strengths, and operational needs.
Weekend availability is a mandatory requirement for all applicants. Candidates must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays. Depending on the position, shifts may be scheduled during the day, evenings, or a combination of both.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, hot food, and other menu items according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Produce large quantities of food while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and presentation.
- Follow daily production schedules and meet required deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Rotate and properly store inventory.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist in other production areas as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is required.
- Experience in production kitchens, commissary kitchens, catering, sandwich production, or high-volume food preparation is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Schedule
- Full-time, permanent.
- Open availability is required.
- Must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays.
- Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and holidays based on operational requirements.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
