Position: Design Engineer/Technologist (Hydraulics Focused)
K-Hart Industries Ltd. designs, manufactures, and globally distributes seeding and harvesting equipment for conservation-minded agricultural producers. We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer/Technologist with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and expertise in Hydraulics to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical and hydraulic systems and components that meet performance, cost, and durability goals.
- Create and manage CAD models, drawings, and technical documents.
- Perform engineering analysis to validate design performance using hand calculations and simulation software.
- Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead prototype development, testing, and production support for both mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Assist in creating product manuals and service documentation.
- Travel up to 10% for project-related needs (typically 1-2 weeks at a time).
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a 3-year Engineering Technologist diploma.
- 3-5 years of experience in Hydraulic Design, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills with proven experience in hydraulics.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in CAD software and the ability to create detailed models and drawings.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to perform hand calculations and use simulation tools for design validation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in evaluating design options and making informed decisions.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
- Experience with hydraulic simulation software is a plus.

- Salary: $65,000 to $95,000 per year
