Senior Civil Project Manager – Structural
Location: British Columbia
Compensation: Up to $145,000 base salary + bonus, vacation, benefits, RSP, and company vehicle
The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Senior Civil Project Manager with strong structural civil construction experience to join an established and growing contractor in British Columbia.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered complex civil infrastructure projects and wants to take on a key leadership role with a well-established organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridges, overpasses, underpasses, rail civil construction, or other major transportation infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major civil and structural construction projects.
- Manage projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are achieved.
- Provide leadership to Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, change orders, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and proactively address potential delays and risks.
- Coordinate with owners, consultants, engineers, municipalities, utilities, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, productivity, and profitability.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Preferred Experience
The successful candidate will ideally bring:
- 8+ years of progressive civil construction project management experience.
- Experience managing structural civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong project experience with one or more of the following:
- Bridges
- Overpasses
- Underpasses
- Rail civil projects
- Transportation infrastructure
- Concrete structures
- Major municipal infrastructure
- Experience managing projects from $10M+ in value is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project financials, scheduling, procurement, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
