Senior Rebar Detailer / Project Coordinator
Location: Richmond Hill, ON
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Rebar Detailer / Project Coordinator to support complex construction projects through the coordination of rebar detailing, project planning, and cross-functional communication. This role is responsible for producing accurate reinforcement steel drawings, collaborating with engineering and construction teams, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with client requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drafting expertise and project coordination experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed rebar shop drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Liaise with design teams, fabrication facilities, and construction personnel to ensure timely completion and delivery of project drawings.
- Create accurate schematics, technical documentation, and visual project materials related to reinforcement steel components.
- Utilize tools such as SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and other visualization software to support project planning and coordination.
- Monitor project schedules, track milestones, and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure all detailing work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Support quality control initiatives and provide guidance and mentorship to junior detailing staff.
- Work closely with engineers and architects to identify and resolve technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on rebar detailing experience is required.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and other CAD/drafting platforms.
- Experience using SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and related visualization tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, structural detailing, and reinforcement steel fabrication processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
