Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Farm Supervisor. This role involves overseeing daily farm operations, ensuring the health and well-being of livestock, and managing agricultural activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with cattle, and experience with farm machinery is preferred. This position requires hands-on work and the ability to work with others effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee animal care and handling, ensuring the health and welfare of livestock
- Maintain farm equipment
- Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Ensure maintenance schedules for tools, machinery, and facilities are followed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in feedlot operations
- Train staff on proper cattle handling techniques and equipment operation
Skills
- Supervising experience in an agricultural environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to farm equipment and machinery
- Proficient in animal husbandry practices and animal care techniques
- Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, and maintenance practices
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and inventory management
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by job duties
- Strong communication skills for effective team management
