Blue House is a neighborhood coffee house built around thoughtful design, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality.
We're creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, and feel at home. As our first Oak Bay location prepares to open, we're looking for a Barista who wants to help build not just a café, but a culture.
About the Role
We're looking for a Barista who already feels comfortable in a café environment and wants to become a core part of the Blue House team.
Previous barista or hospitality experience is preferred, but we're equally interested in people who are dependable, thoughtful, and take pride in their work.
This position comes with a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week.
What You'll Do
- Prepare espresso, matcha, and other beverages to Blue House standards
- Provide thoughtful and efficient customer service
- Operate the POS and handle transactions
- Maintain drink quality and consistency
- Keep the bar, café, and workstations organized
- Complete opening and closing duties
- Help train newer team members
- Restock and communicate inventory needs
- Contribute to a positive team environment
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous café, barista, or hospitality experience preferred
- Is dependable and consistent
- Works efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Has strong attention to detail
- Enjoys working with people
- Takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked
- Wants to continue developing their coffee and hospitality skills
Experience: 1 year of barista experience preferred
Hours: Minimum 16 hours/week
