Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Registered Dental Assistant - Level II and certified through the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA) and the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IPAC, WHMIS, RCDSO, and Ontario Health and Safety protocols, with a strong commitment to infection control, patient care, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist dentists during procedures (restorative, preventative, and surgical).
- Ensure strict compliance with IPAC protocols for infection prevention and control.
- Maintain proper sterilization of instruments and disinfection of clinical areas.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (as per certification and RCDSO guidelines).
- Accurately record patient information and chart dental treatments in digital software.
- Provide post-operative care instructions and ensure patient comfort at all times.
- Support the front desk with patient flow, inventory management, and documentation as needed.
- Manage and take full ownership of dental supply inventory and work with management to optimize inventory controls.
- Ensure compliance with WHMIS, RCDSO, and the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
- Foster a warm, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for all patients and team members.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- ODAA and NDAEB Certification and active registration as a Level II Dental Assistant in Ontario.
- Minimum 6 months of dental assisting experience (preferred but not mandatory).
- Proven knowledge of IPAC, WHMIS, RCDSO regulations, and OHSA standards.
- Certification in HARP.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Proficiency with Cloud-based dental software is an asset (not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is an asset (Spanish not mandatory).
