Job Overview
The youth worker will plan for and teach Sunday School each Sunday from September through June. Emphasis will be on building relationships with youth, teaching Christian ideals that align with Grace United and the United Church of Canada, and running games and activities. Other secondary duties will be discussed: some of the weekly hours are intended for preparation outside of church hours. The youth worker will be supported by Grace adults initially and for as long as is needed for the teacher to feel comfortable in the position.

Show successful completion secondary school diploma or equivalent
Have some experience working with children, but we are willing to train you; experience working with children with special needs an asset
Be at least 18 years of age
Be comfortable with technology
Be physically capable of navigating stairs to the Sunday School space as well as preparing the space for learning (ex. moving a few tables and chairs into place and then returning them)
Have a faith journey that aligns with the progressive nature of Grace United Church and its commitment to an affirming ministry
Be able to remain calm, patient, and proactive in dynamic situations
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
