What’s the Role...
As a Countertop Templator / Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating customer designs into precise technical drawings and digital templates for fabrication and installation. Your expertise directly impacts project accuracy, client satisfaction, and our continued success.
Your Daily Duties:
- Travel to customer homes or job sites to complete digital templates.
- Accurately record all required measurements for countertops, full-height backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, shower walls, and flooring.
- Communicate with customers regarding necessary modifications and provide clarity on the templating and installation process.
- Respond to general customer inquiries and relay important details to sales, operations, or production teams.
- Submit complete templates and work orders within 24–48 hours of the site visit.
- Maintain the company vehicle in clean, working condition.
- Create accurate digital drawings of countertops and sinks using CAD software.
- Collaborate with project managers, installers, and production staff to resolve design or specification issues.
- Apply knowledge of materials, finishes, seams, edge profiles, and industry standards.
- Print templates and perform metric-to-imperial conversions as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, client consultations, and assist with estimating.
- Assist with other duties as assigned, including material receiving, inspections, inventory, and general shop tasks.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Qualifications & Expectations:
- Skilled in digital and manual templating for stone countertop fabrication.
- Experienced with Prodim, LT-2D3D, or similar systems, ensuring precise measurements.
- Strong understanding of onsite conditions, cabinetry requirements, and client communication.
- 4+ years of hands-on templating experience for high-end kitchens, vanities, fireplaces, and full-height surfaces.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with CNC drawing workflows.
- Experience with Proliner or LT-2D3D Laser Templator (an asset).
- High school diploma required; technical diploma in drafting or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
