Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced residential Real Estate Law Clerk with at least 10 years of experience, to work from early-July to mid-August, at our boutique law firm located at College & Bathurst. This may result in future employment (to be renegotiated then). Our law firm has been around for over 50 years! We will arrange parking if you need it!
Duties
- Handle all aspects from opening a file to all post-closing on the following files - residential sale files, condominium occupancy and final closing purchases, various transfers, and Wills and Power of Attorneys (from templates).
- Open files in Soluno/Action Step and Unity, communicate with clients by email/phone, organize and complete file in Unity, prepare all documents required in Teraview, communicate with all third parties for closing by phone/email, schedule meeting between client and lawyers and organize same, handle day of closing requirements including accounting and pay-outs, finalize client account, invoicing and complete reporting
- Support attorneys with administrative responsibilities with respect to files, coordinate client meetings, managing calendars, and handling phone inquiries/conversations with professionalism and courtesy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in administrative or clerical roles within a legal setting; prior law clerk experience of at least 7 years, 10 preferred
- Well versed in Unity, Teraview, Word, Outlook, Soluno/ActionStep (like PC law)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent proofreading, writing, and legal drafting skills to produce clear and accurate documents.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
- Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and interviewing techniques.
Pay: $5,000.00 per month
