As a Registered Dietitian you will be responsible for the nutritional management of inpatients and outpatients in the Children's Care program. This position reports to Manager of Clinical Nutrition for professional practice and administrative issues and to the Children's Care Manager for program specific issues.
Primary responsibilities include the assessment of nutritional status/nutritional needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans to meet these needs. The Dietitian will provide support to the Paediatric Burns, Hematology and Oncology programs. To provide these services, the successful incumbent will collaborate with other health care providers and function as a key member of interdisciplinary team.
Rate of Pay: $33.69 per hours - 42.116 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: August 10, 2020 to August 6, 2021
Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario is required
Active membership with Dietitians of Canada is preferred
Recent, related clinical experience in paediatric nutrition care preferred
Demonstrated practice in accordance with the Ontario Dietetics Act, Dietitians of Canada Code of Ethics and Standards of Care
Demonstrated ability to support the advancement of dietetic practice-based research and knowledge
Ability to promote a high standard of professional practice by disseminating nutrition knowledge and information
Proficient computer skills including word processing and data management software
Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
Demonstrated ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
