Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care to a client in Grimsby. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence in a respectful and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized care such as dementia support. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately and safely as prescribed
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Support clients with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Assist with transfers and mobility exercises to prevent falls and promote independence
- Follow care plans diligently, ensuring all client needs are met with compassion and professionalism
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and caregiving best practices is an asset
- Familiarity with meal preparation, light cleaning, and general home care tasks is beneficial
- Certification or training as a PSW or caregiver is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to complete required training is expected
