Job Description
·Job Duties:
· Strategic Vendor Management: Build and maintain high-level relationships with major CPG partners to secure top-tier pricing, exclusive launches, and prioritized supply chain allocations.
· Contract Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations for trade spend, promotional funding, and volume rebates, ensuring all terms maximize bottom-line profitability and competitive market positioning.
· Category Performance: Own the full P&L for assigned categories, utilizing data-driven insights to manage assortment, pricing strategies, and markdown cadences to hit aggressive sales targets.
· Assortment Optimization: Conduct rigorous market analysis and "clout" reviews to determine the optimal product mix, balancing national brand dominance with emerging trends and private label opportunities.
· Promotional Planning: Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute high-impact promotional calendars, leveraging vendor-funded programs to drive foot traffic and basket size.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to improve fill rates, reduce shrink, and optimize inventory turnover across the distribution network.
Qualifications & Skills
· Experience: experience in grocery procurement, category management, or retail buying. (Experience within a Tier-1 national retailer is strongly preferred).
· CPG Expertise: Deep understanding of the CPG landscape, including vendor cost structures and logistics.
· Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in retail math and the ability to translate complex data sets into actionable buying strategies.
· Communication: A persuasive communicator who can hold his or her own in a boardroom against seasoned account executives.

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
