Primary Care Centre Locations:
Beausejour, Lac du Bonnet, Oakbank, Pinawa, Pine Falls, Whitemouth
Long Term Care Locations:
Arborg, Ashern, Beausejour, Eriksdale, Fisher Branch, Gimli, Lac du Bonnet, Lundar, Oakbank, Pine Falls, Selkirk (3), Stonewall, Teulon, Whitemouth
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

Licensed Practical Nurse License, in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
- Current BCLS+ ACLS
- Minimum 1 year experience within ER unit
- Vulnerable Sector Check, renewed within the year
- Professional Liability Insurance

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs
- Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition
- Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration
- Provides routine care for patients
- Observes patients’ health
- Reviews medical charts
- Accompanies patients to their rooms
- Assists physicians and registered nurses
- Communicates with patients and their families
- Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler
- Prepares specimens for lab courier
- Administers medications
- Provides wound care
- Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas
- Assists with patient comfort
- Monitor catheters
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Admitting new residents
- Assisting physicians during rounds of residents’ rooms
- Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff
- Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff
- Performing ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and mental health
- Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must comply with:
- Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
- Must provide satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must maintain Licensed Practical Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
