CTR Catholic is currently seeking applications for several positions beginning at various times in the
near future.
1. French Immersion - St. John Paul II Collegiate is a Grade 7 to 9 school in Okotoks, Alberta with
a student population of approximately 780. It offers programming in English and Late French

Immersion. This position begins January 31st, 2019 and will involve teaching Grade 8 in the

French Immersion program, either in the area of Social Studies and Humanities, or the area of

Math and Science and also includes sections of Outdoor Education in the English program. The

confirmed assignment will be finalized depending on the strengths of the successful candidate.

We encourage applications from all French teachers who have full proficiency in both English

and French (written and oral) and who have teaching strengths in all disciplines. Catholic

candidates will be given preference; however, all qualified candidates with a desire to teach in a

faith-filled environment will be considered.
2. Grade ¾ - this temporary position at The Centre for Learning @ Home in Okotoks, Alberta is

expected to begin in mid to late February, 2019 and ends June 30, 2019 with the possibility of
extension into the 2019-2020 school year. It involves working in the live online component of
the Centre for Learning @ Home, teaching Grades 3 and 4 Language Arts, Social Studies, and
Science, as well as Enhanced and Precision Reading. Teachers work onsite from the centre in
Okotoks. Strong technology and communication skills will be considered assets and training
will be provided. Catholic candidates are required.

3. Grade 3 – this temporary position at Holy Spirit Academy in High River, Alberta is expected to

begin in early March, 2019 and ends June 30th, 2019 with the possibility of extension into the
2019-2020 school year. It is a Grade 3 homeroom position teaching all the core subjects.
Catholic candidates are required.

4. Kindergarten – this temporary position at Holy Spirit Academy in High River, Alberta is
expected to begin in mid-March, 2019 and ends June 30, 2019 with the possibility of extension
into the 2019-2020 school year. This is a full time Kindergarten position. Catholic candidates
are required.

5. Junior/Senior High Science, Learning Strategies, ELL – this temporary position at Notre Dame
Collegiate in High River Alberta is expected to begin mid-February 2019 and ends June 30, 2019
with the possibility of extension into the 2019-2020 school year. It involves teaching Grade 8
Science, Grade 10 Biology, Learning Strategies and English Language Learners. Catholic
candidates are required.

6. English Language Learning – this temporary position at St. Joseph's Collegiate in Brooks,
Alberta begins as soon as possible and ends June 30, 2019. It involves the delivery of Locally
Developed English Language Learning courses across the grades, focused on explicit language
instruction through Social Studies, Mathematics and Science vocabulary and concepts. This
position is expected to be finalized with an estimated FTE between 70 and 100%, and will be
determined once the successful candidate is identified. Catholic candidates will be given
preference; however, all applicants with a desire to teach in a faith-filled environment will be
considered.

7. Social Studies and Foods - This temporary position at St. Joseph’s Collegiate in Brooks, Alberta
begins in late January, 2019, ends June 30, 2019 and has the possibility of extension into the
2019-2020 school year. The assignment includes teaching Grade 9 and 10 Social Studies and
Grades 9 - 12 Foods. Catholic candidates are required.

8. Junior/Senior High Science and Art – This temporary position at Our Lady of the Snows
Catholic Academy in Canmore, Alberta begins in early February, 2019 and ends in mid-April,
2019. It involves teaching grade 8, 10 and 11 Science as well as Junior High Art. Catholic
candidates will be given preference; however, all candidates with a comfort level and a desire
to be in a faith-filled teaching environment will be considered.
