Job Title: 2nd Cook (PART-TIME)
Department: Kitchen
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares a variety of foods to meet the needs of various food outlets and banquets using skills learnt through Culinary School Certification with 5 years experience, and methods as outlined.
DUTIES
Food Preparation
Checks menus and banquet orders ensuring ingredients and supplies are available.
· Prepares soups, sauces and specials according to the recipe specifications.
· Prepares mispen plus for dinner service.
· Prepares meats, poultry, and fish by roasting, frying, and broiling.
· Creates attractive garnishings for plate service ensuring daily variety.
· Prepares menu items for the dining room ensuring that food meets the Hotel standards of quality, quantity, taste and presentation.
· Organizes an assigned refrigerator and prevents spoilage of food, ensuring it is covered and labeled and used in rotation.
. Food Storage
· All in-service or prepped food to be labeled, dated and stored appropriately
· Food stocks to be rotated 1st in 1st out
· Storage areas are routinely cleaned
· Food to be stored at the proper temperatures
· Refrigerated storage temp is between 32ºF and 40ºF (0ºC and 4ºC).
· Frozen items are in freezers with temps below 0ºF (-18ºC).
Other
· Complies with Hotel policies and procedures.
· Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
· Actively participates in quality Teams as assigned.
· Actively participates in all assigned training programs.
· Assists other team members in own, or other department, as required.
· Conduct white coat service on the PM shift
· Accommodate all reasonable guest request
· Deliver all special meals requested by guest

· Complies with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations, as they apply to the workplace.
· Uses or wears personal protective equipment or clothing as required by the employer.
· Reports any accident/incident to the supervisor.

· Never operates any equipment, machine, device or work process in a manner that will endanger him/herself, another worker, or a guest.
