Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be local to Lloydminster and responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting various financial operations. This role requires a strong background in accounting principles, proficiency with QBO, and the ability to analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making. The Financial Controller will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Review bank reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and implement best practices
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing procedures are completed accurately
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as QBO
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles, bookkeeping, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, auditing, and account analysis
- Proficiency in payroll management and budgeting processes
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in financial services or related industries is preferred
