Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and dedicated Journeyman Heavy Duty Field Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Our main shop is located at 37549 Range Road 232, Red Deer County, AB. In this role, you will perform comprehensive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on a wide variety of Agriculture equipment, Industrial machinery, Forestry machinery and Heavy Trucks. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across multiple sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mechanics to apply their technical skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the reliability and safety of our fleet and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on heavy equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices
- Troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to efficiently diagnose and repair problems
- Collaborate with parts department to ensure timely access to necessary parts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Document all repairs and maintenance performed on customer equipment
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all company safety protocols
- perform test drives and road assessments
Skills
- Red Seal Certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (preferred) or equivalent provincial certification
- Minimum 7 years of experience working on heavy-duty equipment. Trucks, Forestry, Construction and Agriculture experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) without assistance
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Shift Schedule
- Full-time
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime will be required depending on customer and seasonal requirements.
- Time away from home may be required depending on the technician abilities and position
- Rotation in the On-Call schedule
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
