The HCA works as part of the health care team within his/her scope of practice under the direction of a regulated health care provider. The HCA is responsible for providing care in accordance with the activities assigned to the HCA in the Care Plan. The HCA is responsible to ask the regulated health care provider for assistance if the HCA feels that she/he does not have the knowledge or competency to safely carry out the activity. Restricted activities can be assigned to the HCA by a regulated health care provider who is authorized and competent to perform the activity and is responsible to supervise the activity.
The HCA is expected to follow Cypress View Foundation values, policies and procedures and must comply with relevant legislation and regulations.
