We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High English and Social StudiesTeacher who is committed to providing students with the highest quality education. The successful candidate will teach English Language Arts (ELA), and Social Studies inspiring students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the world around them.
Duties:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in accordance with the Alberta curriculum for English Language Arts and Social Studies
- Foster students’ critical thinking, reading, writing, and communication skills
- Provide constructive feedback to support student learning and academic growth
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessment practices
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning and the overall educational experience
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of high school English Language Arts, and Social Studies curriculum
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to support diverse student populations
- Experience teaching English Language Arts, and/or Social Studies at the high school level
- Commitment to creating an engaging and student-centered learning environment
- Counselling experience (preferred)
CURRENT ALBERTA TEACHERS’ CERTIFICATION IS MANDATORY
