Clearwater Seafoods' Corporate Reporting and Accounting department requires a Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting role based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. The position is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting.
Purpose of Position:
This position plays an active role in complex accounting and internal financial reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting is a key member of the Corporate Reporting team.
Reporting Structure

Job Duties:
- Lead role in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements including key performance metrics and continuity schedules.
- Actively involved in preparation of quarterly financial statements for management, lender and shareholder reporting.
- Supporting role in the production of relevant group and statutory financial reporting including annual audited consolidated financial statements
- Actively involved in the accounting of non-routine/complex transactions and the internal documentation to support compliance with IFRS e.g. financial instruments, acquisitions etc.
- Assisting the Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting in oversight and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Assist in the coordination and consolidation of the annual operating plan.
- Collaborate with various departments (Land-based operations, Fleet, IT etc.) in completing monthly forecast analysis and quarterly Statistic Canada surveys.
- Assist in the completion of external audits to ensure compliance.
- Participate in short and long-term strategic planning initiatives as requested.
- Constantly seek to improve the efficiency in internal and group reporting.
- Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls over financial reporting for the Corporate Reporting group.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management

Job Qualifications:
- CPA designation
- A minimum of three to five years progressive experience
- Experience applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong technical ability including experience with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Index formulas)
- SAP, Workiva, Cognos or OneStream user knowledge is an asset
