Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will order parts, manage inventory, and provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of automotive parts and repair processes. Duties
- Assist customers/staff in identifying and selecting the appropriate automotive parts based on their needs and vehicle specifications
- Manage inventory levels, order fulfillment, and stock replenishment to ensure availability of parts
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash handling and billing procedures
- Provide expert advice on product features, compatibility, and installation requirements
- Maintain organized records of sales, orders, and customer interactions using Microsoft Excel or other relevant software
- Collaborate with service technicians to facilitate efficient parts procurement and delivery
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, addressing customer questions promptly and effectively
- Support marketing efforts by promoting special offers or new products to customers
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean, organized work environment in the parts department
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive repair is preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, CMMS systems, and POS software
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, math skills for order accuracy, and organizational skills for inventory management
- Effective negotiation skills to upsell products or resolve issues efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure with strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures related to automotive parts is advantageous
