We are seeking an Accountant to join a growing group of businesses and become an important role in supporting the financial operations behind them.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys more than working through the same accounting cycle every month. In addition to managing day-to-day accounting for Encore, you’ll have the opportunity to work across other entities and investments, gaining exposure to different aspects of the business.
Your responsibilities will span day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, filings, financial reporting, and year-end preparation, along with a variety of work supporting the broader group.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, capable and detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in accounting and an interest in understanding the business behind the numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and month-end adjustments
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, financial statements and supporting schedules
- Prepare GST/HST and other routine government filings
- Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations
- Maintain accounting records across multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Assist with year-end, tax and other financial requirements in coordination with external accountants and advisors
- Provide accounting support as new businesses are acquired and integrated into the group
- Investigate discrepancies and support improvements to accounting processes, reporting and controls
- Provide financial information and analysis to management as needed
- Take on a variety of accounting and business-related projects as the organization evolves
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and month-end close
- Experience preparing reconciliations, accruals, and financial reports
- Knowledge of GST/HST filings and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Active pursuit of CPA is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
