At SMS Equipment our Reliability Engineers are key players in providing a variety of technical support and maintenance of the Komatsu equipment. They provide direction to the branch and customers with regards to maintenance programs, recommendation and technical support. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their experience, resourcefulness and positivity to the team.

This position is Monday to Friday and does offer an office/hybrid option.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer: This position requires close attention to record keeping, reconciling, invoicing, report preparation and other related responsibilities as it applies to availability by Customer. Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives with all Customers.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement processes and quality systems for SMS Equipment, Fort McMurray and also external customers (Komatsu, Suncor). Analyze technical data and prepare technical reports. Analysis component failures as needed to verify failure mechanisms in order to improve develop and maintain procedures and documentation for the operation and/or design of electrical, mechanical and welding.
Record and document all major component change outs on truck fleet ensuring components being changed out comply with the proper program. Organize factory technical training for technicians and customer. Develop procedures and processes including S.O.P.s.

Qualifications:
This position requires an Engineering degree preferably in mechanical or technology or related education and 2-3 years of mechanical experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Previous fleet management experience is preferred.
Knowledge of OHSE acts and regulations as well as fleet inspection requirements.
Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
Ability to work independently and/ or as part of a team.
Knowledge of company and customer standards and procedures as applicable.
Manage contracts as per outlined language and intent.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups
