McRae’s Auto Electric is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Front Counter Sales / Parts Person to join our Cranbrook team. We specialize in heavy-duty electrical components including starters, alternators, batteries, DC motors, cabling, and related products for automotive, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and mining applications.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in parts sales, front counter service, or inside sales within the automotive, heavy-duty, industrial, or equipment industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in sourcing electrical parts for heavy-duty, industrial, agricultural, automotive, and mining applications.
- Use multiple software applications and catalog systems to accurately identify components and supply the correct parts to customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Utilize product knowledge to recommend the best parts and solutions based on customer needs and application requirements.
- Process product warranties and assist customers with warranty claims and related procedures.
- Perform hands-on tasks, including battery installation, basic electrical diagnostics, and component repairs as required.
- Receive, organize, and stock incoming inventory while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
- Complete local deliveries to customers as needed, ensuring timely and professional service.
- Assist with general shop and warehouse duties to support daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous sales or customer service experience.
- Parts experience preferred, ideally in automotive, heavy-duty, industrial, agriculture, or mechanical industries.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to lift 50lbs above shoulder height and or lift heavy objects weighing 70lbs or more.
- Ability to work with light hand tools or with small cabling or wiring.

Pay: $18.50-$23.50 per hour
