Position Summary

The Skilled Trades role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Our Strathroy, ON location is looking for a Skilled Tradesperson to join our Team. Strathroy, is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full service turnkey solutions.

The Skilled Tradesperson performs reactive, assigned, and preventative maintenance on all production and supporting equipment within the facility. The Skilled Tradesperson also diagnoses, troubleshoots, and provides electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, control system support on all equipment.

The Role

Carry out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner;
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and/or control problems and corrects equipment in breakdown situations to ensure that production efficiencies are maintained;
Assembles, disassembles, installs, repairs, and/or fabricates as needed to maintain assigned equipment within the facility in accordance to policy, procedures and regulations;
Completes specialty system support work (temperature controller adjustments, calibrations, PLCs, PMs, etc.) as trained;
Complies with PM, SOP, cGMP, and regulatory requirements;
Maintains tools, toolboxes, and shop areas in compliance with cGMP/SOP standards;
Required to work a flexible schedule as required, and provide on-call support as scheduled;
Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
The Candidate

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required;
Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A and/or Industrial Electrician 442A with 3+ years of experience;
Red Seal Certification;
Electrical and PLC experience in a manufacturing environment (Pharma, Food, Packaging Industry) an asset;
Boiler, refrigeration and air handling systems experience an asset;
Experience in the following: shop tools, lathe, mills, grinders, drill presses, precision measurement instruments, power tools, technical manuals/schematics/blueprints, controllers, PLC & HMI, PID, calibration, and engineering drawings.
