Community Education Coordinator
BC Cancer, Vancouver, $34.95 to $43.58 per hour
What you’ll do
Assess educational needs of supportive cancer care staff within BC Cancer and the CONs, to develop educational strategies. Collaborate with other disciplines and educators.
Develop, assess, implement and maintain multimedia instructional materials, including modules, manuals, and web-based programs.
Develop and coordinate orientation and training of counsellors and relevant health care practitioners by performing duties such as developing and maintaining an orientation manual/material, and arranging orientation sessions.
Identify and facilitate the learning of new therapeutic interventions, by communicating new information and educating supportive cancer care staff by organizing workshops, in-services, and conferences.
What you bring
Master’s degree in a social sciences discipline relevant to the job from a recognized program, such as Social Work or Counselling Psychology.
Three years’ combined experience in clinical counselling working in an interdisciplinary health care setting, preferably in oncology and in developing adult education programs preferably in a health care setting, including experience in the development and maintenance of web-based programs.
