Job Summary:
True Way Installations Inc. is looking for an experienced Directional Drill Locator / Utility Locator to support HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for locating underground utilities and guiding the drill operator safely and accurately during drilling work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate and mark underground utilities before drilling (gas, hydro, telecom, water)
- Operate locator equipment (Digitrak or similar systems)
- Guide drill operator during HDD operations
- Ensure bore path accuracy (depth, alignment, direction)
- Read and understand utility drawings and plans
- Maintain safe work practices and follow safety procedures
- Assist driller and crew when required (setup, cleanup, material handling)
- Complete daily reports and field documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years experience as HDD Locator
- Experience with directional drilling projects (telecom preferred)
- Knowledge of locating equipment (Digitrak, Vermeer systems, etc.)
- Ability to read locates and drawings
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willing to travel for project
Assets (Preferred):
- Experience in telecom (fiber installation)
- Ground disturbance certification
- First Aid / WHMIS certification
- Experience assisting drill operator

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
