About the role :
The Sales & Business Development Representative – Vancouver Island is responsible for developing and managing NCS’s business, with a primary focus on Vancouver Island and supporting business development activities across Vancouver and the surrounding market. The role focuses on relationship-driven sales and market development for NCS services including dewatering, sewer and stormwater bypass, water transfer, water filtration, ESC (erosion & sediment control) and water management solutions.
As part of this role, there is an expectation to regularly travel to and work on Vancouver Island to develop client relationships, generate leads, identify new business opportunities, and support ongoing business development activities. Travel to Vancouver and other locations may also be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Business Development
- Drive new business growth by cold calling, networking, site visits, and industry engagement
- Develop relationships with contractors, municipalities, consultants, and industrial operators
- Promote NCS services and capabilities to generate project opportunities
- Attend industry events and represent NCS within the regional market
- Gather market intelligence including competitor activity, project pipelines, and client needs
II. Sales & Opportunity Management
- Identify and qualify new project opportunities
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope, technical requirements, and customer needs
- Assist in developing project solutions in coordination with operations
- Prepare quotations, proposals and supporting documentation
- Follow up through award, contract execution, and project kickoff
III. Account & Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers
- Act as primary point of contact for Vancouver Island clients
- Communicate customer requirements clearly and effectively to internal teams
- Proactively address customer concerns and coordinate resolutions
IV. Project Coordination Support
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams for successful project execution
- Assist with scheduling and project communication
- Support change management and scope adjustments during projects
- Contribute to ensure successful project completion and repeat business
V. Internal Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate and up to date CRM records including leads, opportunities, and customer interactions
- Provide regular sales activity reports and pipeline updates to management
- Support estimating and proposal development as required
- Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within construction, municipal infrastructure or engineering / consulting services.
- Existing network and strong industry connections in Vancouver, lower mainland and Vancouver Island with the ability to leverage existing relationships to drive new business is an asset.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, growing territory revenue, and securing long-term contracts through strategic account management.
- Mechanical aptitude, with working knowledge of pumps, piping, water systems, and related industrial equipment is an asset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with experience engaging contractors, engineers, municipalities, and industrial clients.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently and effectively manage a large geographic territory
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to other select areas across British Columbia from time to time.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
