Voisey's Bay Opportunity: Various Tradespersons

Liannu Limited Liability Partnership (Liannu LLP), a subsidiary of Pennecon Ltd. currently has an opportunity at the Voisey’s Bay Site to provide labour and technical support for the construction of 4 buildings that include but are not limited to: 2 Powerhouses, a Paste Plant, a Booster Station, E-houses, as well as other works to support these facilities.

Recognizing the Impact & Benefits Agreement with the Innu Nation & Nunatsiavut Government, Innu and Inuit workers will have first preference for employment at the Voisey’s Bay Site. In anticipation of this upcoming opportunity, we are requesting applications for interested and qualified candidates in the following areas:

Iron Workers
Sheet Metal Workers
Operating Engineers

Start Date: September 16, 2019

End Date: April 28, 2020

Job Duration: 7 months (may be required to work during the Holiday season)

Application Deadline: August 2, 2019

The successful candidates for these positions will have relevant training and/or experience in the above area(s). Under certain circumstances apprentices will be considered for these roles as well. Experience working in an Industrial environment where responsiveness and ability to work and adapt to varying environments will be critical.

Items to be worked on will include but are not limited to: steel erection, welding, painting, rough carpentry, hoarding, shunt work, scaffolding, siding, sheet metal work, general labour work, surveying, and electrical work (for temporary facilities).

Additional minimum requirements (for particular positions) are as follows:

Journeyperson certification where applicable;
Eligible for acceptance into applicable union;
Must be capable of working at heights;
Must have current Newfoundland and Labrador Fall Arrest training certificate to WHSCC;
Ability to use hand and power tools;
Drug testing will be a requirement;
Criminal Record Checks will be a requirement;
Ability to communicate via radio;
Must be capable of working in an arctic environment;
JLG/Aerial Work Platform training;
Some labourers will be required to hold a Class 2 Driver’s License.
