Duties
- Prepare animals for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process
- Assist veterinarians during surgeries, diagnostics, and treatments by handling instruments and monitoring vital signs
- Collect laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing, leveraging laboratory experience to ensure accuracy
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian with precision and care
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document all procedures accurately
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures
- Support kennel and facility cleanliness to uphold a hygienic environment conducive to healing
Experience
- Previous laboratory experience is highly desirable to facilitate sample collection and processing tasks
- Experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for dedicated learners
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
