Blackbird Security is looking to hire a Warehouse Site Supervisor for an exciting new project in Langley, BC.
Role Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to fully support the Regional and District Managers in their role as it pertains to the quality of our operational services associated with your site. The Warehouse Security Supervisor will oversee the security operations within the warehouse, ensuring the safety of the facility, personnel, and inventory. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to incidents. The ideal candidate will have experience in security management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with different departments within the warehouse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of security guards to maintain a secure environment within the warehouse.
- Security Operations: surveillance, and incident response. Ensure all security protocols are followed and updated as needed.
- Develop and manage the security guard schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage of the warehouse.
- Adjust staffing levels as needed to address operational demands, staff absences, or special events.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, including theft, vandalism, and safety breaches.
- Prepare detailed reports and coordinate with law enforcement if necessary.
- Work closely with warehouse management and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to security and safety.
- Coordinate and conduct training for new security hires, covering site-specific procedures, safety protocols, emergency response, and company policies.
- Ensure that new hires are fully equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Provide ongoing training and development for security staff, focusing on emergency procedures, incident response, and safety protocols.
- Regularly review and monitor CCTV footage for any irregularities or breaches in security, taking prompt action when necessary.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly security reports to senior management.
- Communicate regularly with client security lead regarding security issues and updates.
- Ensure security operations procedures comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact during emergency situations, coordinating response efforts and communicating with relevant stakeholders.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
- Valid Security License.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Ability to regularly and reliably attend site for scheduled shifts, as well as have flexibility to work after hours if needed to respond to urgent situations or emergencies as required
- Previous experience in security is required.
- Must be highly proficient in the English language, spoken, written, and via electronics.
- Superior observational skills.
- Willingness to attend meeting and trainings to improve skills.
- Knowledgeable on safety processes and procedures.
- Personal vehicle is required
- Class 5 BCDL and a clean driver's abstract are required for operation of the site vehicle
