MER Building Services is a growing residential renovation company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and custom carpentry projects throughout Calgary. We are looking for an experienced Carpenter who also has strong Site Supervision experience and can help manage projects from start to finish.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on role that combines carpentry work with site supervision responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to perform carpentry tasks while coordinating trades, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects are completed to our quality standards.
Site supervision experience is mandatory for this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential renovation and finishing carpentry work
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades on site
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout projects
- Communicate with homeowners, suppliers, and the project management team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Assist with material planning and deliveries
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively
- Complete deficiency lists and oversee project closeout
RequirementsMust Have:
- Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience
- Previous site supervision experience in residential renovations (required)
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices
- Ability to read plans and drawings
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Own basic hand and power tools
Preferred:
- Experience managing multiple trades
- Knowledge of building codes and construction best practices
- Experience with kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and custom millwork
