VA Transport is looking for a Team leader on the evening shift responsible for making sure the loading and unloading operations goes smoothly.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
In addition to the tasks of the handler the team leader will :
- Team Coordination: Coordinate the daily activities of dock associates to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Work Assignment: Assign tasks and prioritize workload based on operational requirements and shipping schedules.
- Training & Coaching: Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and guidance to new and existing employees on safe work practices and operational procedures.
- Quality Control: Monitor loading and unloading activities to ensure accuracy, minimize damages, and maintain productivity standards.
- Problem Solving: Respond to operational challenges, resolve day-to-day issues, and escalate concerns to management when necessary.
- Shift Support: Assist supervisors with shift start-up meetings, workload planning, and end-of-shift reporting.
- Performance Support: Lead by example, encourage teamwork, and help maintain productivity and service level expectations.
Requirements for the position
- Ability to perform physical work;
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills;
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge;
- Leadership skills;
- Available from 14h00 to 22h00
