Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight and heavy equipment across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight, heavy equipment, and other materials to designated destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operational readiness.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating heavy trucks, forklifts, and other industrial equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of freight handling, securement techniques, and transportation regulations.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics is desirable.
- Excellent safety awareness and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently during long hauls or tight schedules.
