Our client is a Civil Contractor that delivers high quality infrastructure projects all over Canada. They are currently looking to hire Site Superintendents with bridge (new & rehab) construction experience to join their dynamic team. *Please note that projects are located all over Canada, some in remote locations, so a willingness to travel is required*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the daily construction activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project
  • Monitors ongoing construction to ensure that the work is being done correctly and the project stays on schedule
  • Works with contractors to complete project within the given budget and timeframe
  • Resolves contract disputes and arranges any necessary order changes
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives Contributes to functional strategy development

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bridge rehab or new Bridge construction experience on projects
  • 7-10 years of experience as superintendent leading crews
  • Strong management experience
  • Strong communication skills - ability to manage all trades, clients, and consultants
  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering OR comparable working experience
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Strong construction methodology
  • Experience in public works or civil engineering is required
  • Ability to travel across the country and in remote locations

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • Construction: 10 years (Required)
  • Bridge Construction: 5 years (Preferred)
