Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our busy restaurant team/Catering.This role is essential in ensuring the timely preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, contributing to an exceptional dining experience/catering for our guests.As a morning prep/cook you would be in charge of opening the kitchen, setting up stations, fullfiling catering orders directed by chef.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong work ethic, and experience in food service environments.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant standards, including meal preparation and food handling.
- Cook menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency, utilizing various cooking techniques.
- Assist in food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately while managing multiple orders during busy service times.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff and guests alike.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant kitchens is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
- Familiarity with cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food service operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Basic understanding of the food industry standards related to cleanliness, safety, and quality control.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays as needed.
