Fighting Arts Collective (FAC) is a thriving martial arts and fitness community with a history of global expertise. Our growing after school program in Toronto provides children with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can learn, stay active, build confidence, and develop important life skills.
We are expanding our team and looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and compassionate After School Instructors who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in their community.
Position: After School Instructor
Schedule: Weekdays, approximately 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
Location: Toronto, ON
Employment Type: Part-time
As an After School Instructor, you will help supervise, support, and engage children throughout our after school program. You will help transport participants safely from school to our gym, lead age-appropriate activities, and support students as they prepare for and participate in martial arts training.
The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, patient, safety-conscious, and comfortable working as part of a team. Experience in childcare, education, martial arts, kinesiology, physical education, fitness, or youth programming is an asset, but a martial arts background is not required.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport children from school to the FAC gym.
- Provide attentive supervision, guidance, and support throughout after school hours.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for program participants.
- Lead games, lessons, activities, and structured programming before martial arts training.
- Assist with and eventually lead components of the FAC martial arts curriculum.
- Encourage children to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, fitness, and positive social skills.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding participant needs, safety, and program activities.
- Follow FAC safety procedures, teaching methods, and program standards.
- Work collaboratively with instructors and staff to ensure the success of the after school program.
- Help maintain a consistent and positive experience across both FAC locations.
Must-Have Requirements
- Availability on weekdays from approximately 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Ability to remain active and on your feet for approximately 2–3 hours.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Responsible, punctual, dependable, and comfortable working with children.
- Willingness to complete a training period to learn FAC's curriculum, content, and teaching methods.
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
- Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for children.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
The following experience or education is considered an asset:
- Childcare or early childhood education experience.
- Experience working with children or youth.
- Martial arts training or teaching experience.
- Education or experience in kinesiology or physical education.
- Fitness, coaching, recreation, or sports experience.
- Previous experience in an after school program or youth program.
- Ability and willingness to work at both FAC locations.
No martial arts experience? No problem. We are open to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, communication skills, and willingness to learn.
