Summary
As a Senior P&C Commissioner, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and commissioning high voltage power systems and equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgears, and protective relays. You will also troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions that arise during the commissioning process, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma/degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years experience in power systems commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting, preferably in high voltage environments.
- Knowledge of power systems theory, operation, and protection.
Skills
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and software, such as multimeters, power analyzers, Omicron, Doble, Megger, and more.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural, and SCADA flow drawings.
- Ability to communicate with different types of relays such SEL, GE, and Siemens.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working at heights and in adverse weather.
Duties
- Perform pre-commissioning checks and inspections to verify that equipment and systems are properly installed and meet design specifications.
- Conduct functional tests and measurements on equipment to verify their performance and functionality.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions that arise during the commissioning process.
- Document and report the results of commissioning activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate and communicate with Supervisors, Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors, and clients throughout the commissioning process.
- Follow and enforce safety rules and regulations, such as Permit To Work (PTW), Lock out - Tag Out (LOTO), Guarantee Of Isolation (GOI) and electrical lockout procedures.
- Experience with RAS Schemes would be considered an asset.
- Switching experience would be considered an asset
