Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Preparation Worker to join our team in a downtown, well-established, fast-paced cafe. We operate Monday to Friday, with shifts starting at 6am, ending no later than 3:00pm. No evenings, weekends or stat holidays! Ideally the candidate will be available to stay with us past the summer months!! The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in meal preparation and food handling and enjoy being face to face with our wonderful customers! This role is essential to ensuring that our cafe operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality meals to our customers.
Duties
- Prepare and create a variety of deli sandwiches, wraps and subs/paninis and soups daily
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all food served.
- Collaborate with other cafe staff to ensure timely meal service and efficient workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
- Serve meals, complete panini sandwiches and maintain a friendly, fast and efficient demeanor with customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is required. Catering experience a bonus!
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks.
- Shifts are Monday to Friday, starting at 6am. No evenings or weekends required!!

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
