NIDES FINE ARTS E-ACADEMY (FAe): Teacher Primary/Early Intermediate
The Fine Arts eCademy (FAe) is a blended learning, fine-arts focused program Kindergarten - Grade 7. The program is unique within its structure of teacher teams, delivery of curriculum through the fine arts lens, the focus on social emotional needs of learners and the shared learning that occurs between the learners, their families and teachers to recognize learning both at home and at school. FAe teachers support students with diverse needs and abilities in multi-grade classrooms. They create and support K-7 "electives" based on areas of interest. During home learning days, our FAe teachers support families across multiple platforms, spend time planning as a team for online, face to face instruction and collaborate with their grade group colleagues and the greater FAe community.

- Fine Arts background and experience is a requirement

Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) program in British Columbia

Demonstrated experience and commitment to working collaboratively as part of a teacher team advancing methods in curriculum integration, project-based learning and personalization in multi-grade classrooms (2-4). It is a requirement for Fae teachers to work as part of a collaborative K-7 team with planning, instruction and communication of student learning.

Skill and experience coordinating and integrating community-based programs

Documented capacity to integrate a broad range of digital media, visual and performing arts within the mainstream curriculum

Demonstrated ability to create online learning resources for learners and families (e.g. using Brightspace, Google Classroom, etc.)

Advanced instruction skills teaching with e-portfolios (Seesaw), blogs (Seesaw), websites and Curricular Competencies

Demonstrated experience in literacy and numeracy foundational programs/resources (Science of reading, UFLI, Jump Math)

Working with the FAe Team to create and support Celebrations of Learning (COL) and other community based events (may require non-traditional hours e.g. evening gatherings)
Dedication to developing and delivering a broad range of parent workshops and supporting co-facilitation of student learning with families
