Dean Group's Manufacturing division is searching for an Electronic Production Technician for our client in Waterloo.
Our client is a growing technology and advanced manufacturing company that specializes in highly technical imaging products. Role: Production Technician (X-ray department)
Location: Waterloo, ON
Contract length: Open ended contract (no end date)
Wage: $19.00/hour + 10% shift premium
Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:15am

Job Summary:
As a Production Technician, you will work as part of the X-Ray manufacturing team, performing a variety of precision production, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting processes. The successful candidate will be required to troubleshoot problems, communicate technical issues and problems in detail, and learn to operate increasingly complex manufacturing equipment.
This role is well suited to someone with a post-secondary educational background who is comfortable working with technical information, precision components, and specialized equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing wire bonding
- Completing dam and fill processes
- Performing tile testing and building
- Dicing components as part of the manufacturing process
- Learning and eventually operating specialized and increasingly complex equipment, including slide and aligner and Datacons
- Troubleshooting production and equipment-related problems
- Identifying, documenting, and communicating issues and problems in detail
- Following detailed work instructions and established production procedures
- Performing quality checks and ensuring work meets required specifications
- Accurately recording production information and maintaining documentation
- Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
- Using SAP to enter and maintain production information
- Following all cleanroom procedures
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with precision equipment and components. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can retain technical information, troubleshoot problems effectively, clearly communicate technical issues, and work with very small components and increasingly complex equipment.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and production-related problems
- Ability to clearly and accurately communicate issues and problems, including providing detailed information when required
- Good hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to learn, understand, and retain technical information quickly
- Comfortable working with complex and specialized equipment
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and change priorities when required
- Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Moderate computer skills
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, including updating and maintaining spreadsheets
- Experience using SAP is an asset
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment
- Must wear ESD approved safety shoes and follow all safety protocols
