Position Summary
The Production Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and oversight of all production activities at Apex Food Source. This includes developing and executing operational plans, ensuring the safe and efficient use of resources, upholding quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role involves leading teams across production and sanitation while promoting safety, optimizing performance, and mentoring team members. The Production Manager is critical in ensuring that Apex delivers high-quality food products on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing and production line operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output in alignment with company goals.
- Develop and execute production strategies and manufacturing plans based on company objectives, using backward planning to ensure readiness of people, equipment, and materials.
- Work with the Maintenance Team to prioritize preventative maintenance, minimize downtime, and maintain operational readiness.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Team to ensure raw materials, packaging, and components are available to support uninterrupted production flow.
- Monitor workflow, equipment performance, and production metrics; identify trends and implement improvements to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making and communicate progress to senior leadership team.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean principles, 5S, and other process optimization tools.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility at all times.
- Support Apex Food Source’s Quality and Food Safety Programs, ensuring product integrity and timely release protocols.
- Mentor and develop team members across all levels; support succession planning, skill development, and cross-training to strengthen team capabilities.
- Lead and support operational changes, including product launches, process updates, and scaling production capacity when needed.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing team environment that aligns with Apex Food Source’s values.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role within food manufacturing or a high-performance production environment
- A collaborative, positive leader who thrives in a fast-paced setting and leads with integrity, accountability, and respect
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead teams, document processes, and coordinate effectively across departments
- Leadership excellence with a proven track record of mentoring staff, driving productivity, and implementing operational improvements
- Commitment to safety with a solid understanding of health, food safety, and occupational safety protocols

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
