Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment across Edmonton and nearby cities. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, or automotive repair are encouraged to apply, as these skills will enhance their effectiveness in this role.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight, equipment, and materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and compliance documentation
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Familiarity with Flatbed operation is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair or troubleshooting is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and adhere to strict safety standards
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections as required
