Field Supervisor

The FS receives general direction from the Area Coordinator and/or Project Manager. The incumbent relies on construction and supervisory experience and reliable judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

All work crews and individuals on-site shall will be supervised by and take direction from the field supervisor when completing work. The field supervisor liaises with all project related staff including contractors, safety coordinators, sales, project managers, clients and other stakeholders. Travel is required.


  • Supervising crews in single areas -Safe productive work supervision
  • Perform maintenance tasks
  • Executing according to standards and protocols
  • Assist in the review and planning of work scope packages
  • Conducting hazard assessment
  • Support material and tool requirements and preparation of detailed work execution
  • Completing safety paperwork
  • Coordinating with project managers and site supervisors on planning/scheduling
  • Requesting change orders
  • Adhere to policies and procedures; maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal and safety
  • Promptly inform the site supervisor of any anticipated delays or changes in the scope of work


  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance, petroleum construction, above ground/underground fuel piping systems and storage tanks
  • Sound safety, mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Effectiveness in the areas of construction/industrial safety and productivity
  • Proficient in all aspects of industrial site permitting and safe work guidelines
  • Knowledge of provincial / federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID, plans, isometric drawing, specifications & MSDS sheets
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and blueprints and equipment specifications


  • 3+ years industrial maintenance/construction
  • College diploma or education in appropriate construction/petroleum related field an asset
  • Training in spark / Fire watch, confined space watch, excavation watch, H2S, First Aid, and TDG is preferred.
  • Certified CSTS,WHMIS, POST, First Aid with CPR and fall protection preferred;
  • Petroleum Installers, PM1, PM2 Certificate preferred
  • CSID considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license - Must Provide abstract which is insurable
  • Willingness to travel if required
